[CANUFNET] Looking for Feedback on Newmarket's New Draft Private Tree Bylaw

Hi Joerg - one piece of advice I can offer.

The best way to ensure that your Bylaws are working for private land is to
keep an up to date tree canopy assessment.

The ideal number is to perform a new assessment no later than 5 years from
the last one. Some municipalities wait until 10 years or more. Because of
new AI technology, that number has shrunk to as little as 2 years apart.

You'll be able to quickly identify any gains or losses of tree canopy
coverage on private land, even down to the parcel if you have a % goal. It
will also serve as a tool for advocacy if needed.

Happy to discuss further if that would be helpful.

Congratulations on achieving this milestone!
