What city services are important to you, your family and community :  

recreation programs, child care, affordable housing, drop-in programs, home supports, or health services for seniors, for children with special needs?

If you want to see these services maintained and improved, let your City Councillor know.

City Council has difficult decisions to make in this year’s city budget. As the federal and provincial governments are not providing adequate funding for cities, the City of Ottawa must rely on property taxes to keep these services. Even with a tax increase of 4.8%, the city will be forced to undergo large service cuts.

This budget will determine the future of our city. *      Present a deputation to City Council,   Dec 3 – 7.

Les femmes ont le processus budgétaire municipal 2008 à l’œil!

Lesquels des services municipaux suivants sont importants pour vous, votre famille et votre communauté : les programmes de loisirs, la garde d’enfants, le logement abordable, 

les programmes sans rendez-vous, le soutien à domicile, ou les services de santé pour les aînés, pour les enfants ayant des besoins spéciaux?

Si vous voulez que ces services soient maintenus et améliorés, informez-en votre Conseiller ou Conseillère municipal(e).

Le Conseil municipal a des décisions difficiles à prendre par rapport au budget municipal de cette année. Étant donné que les gouvernements fédéral et provincial versent des fonds insuffisants aux municipalités, la Ville d’Ottawa doit compter sur l’impôt foncier pour maintenir ces services. Le 14 novembre prochain, le personnel municipal présentera trois scénarios budgétaires, proposant des taux différents d’augmentation d’impôt foncier. Même avec une augmentation de 4,8 %, la ville sera forcée de subir de grandes réductions de services.

Ce budget déterminera l’avenir de notre ville. Venez rencontrer d’autres femmes et vous informer sur l’avant-projet de budget ainsi que sur les façons dont vous pouvez exprimer vos préoccupations auprès du Conseil municipal. Les frais de gardiennage et le coût des billets d’autobus seront couverts, au besoin.

Soyez témoin de la divulgation du projet de budget

*      Soyez présente pour observer les délibérations et pour vous procurer une copie du projet de budget. IVTF peut fournir aux femmes un foulard de couleur pêche pour rendre votre présence bien visible.

*      Composez le 311 (une ligne téléphonique spéciale, réservée au budget, sera installée sous peu).

*      Présentez une députation au Conseil municipal, entre le 3 et le 7 décembre.
