Mental Health Symposium 2009
October 5, 2009 at the Coliseum Theatre, Ottawa

The Department of Psychiatry of the University of Ottawa, the Canadian Mental Health Association (Ottawa), the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group and the University of Ottawa Institute of Mental Health Research are collaborating to present the 2nd Mental Health Symposium.

Target audience:
Primary-care workers, family physicians, all mental health clinicians, consumers and caregivers, policy-planners, educators, human resources administrators, etc.

The symposium will demonstrate and respect the following principles:

1.      Multi-systemic, shared-care approach;
2.      Tools (e.g.: scales, names of appropriate contacts, algorithms, web sites, etc.), that are solution-oriented, best practices = what works;
3.      Continuum of care - from the identification of symptoms to recovery - clarifying access & navigation issues through the service delivery systems;
4.      Evidence- based knowledge;
5.      Bring stakeholders together around important mental health issues.

Cost:  $100.00, including lunch

Le Département de Psychiatrie de l'Université d'Ottawa, l'Association canadienne en santé mentale (Ottawa), les Services de Santé Royal Ottawa et l'Institut de recherche en santé mentale de l'Université d'Ottawa collaborent ensemble pour vous présenter ce 2e Symposium en santé mentale.

Public visé:
Intervenants de première ligne, médecins de famille, professionnels en santé mentale et en éducation, proches, consommateurs et soignants, administrateurs, etc.
