Dear (Service Providers),
The AIDS Committee of Ottawa presents Voices for Women's Health; a community
forum that will bring together women in Ottawa to discuss sexual health
priorities and HIV prevention needs in our community. We are inviting women
living with HIV and at-risk women of Ottawa to come listen, learn, discuss,
and provide input on issues that affect their own health and wellbeing.
We would really appreciate if you could support us, by advertising this
event and encouraging women who access your services to participate!
Attached are English and French posters for advertising.
As a service provider, you are also invited to join in on the conversation
and to learn from the women present. Voices for Women's Health is a day-long
forum consisting of a panel discussion with five speakers presenting on
various aspects of women's health, followed by an afternoon session of five
facilitated focus groups, where women in attendance will have the
opportunity to voice their needs and concerns.
We have secured some amazing speakers, to present on: Indigenous Women's
sexual health and education; navigating health and social systems for
African and Caribbean communities; harm reduction and women who use drugs;
sexual health access for Trans and Queer women; and emotional health and
healthy relationships.
The forum will take place in MAC Hall of the Bronson Centre (at 211 Bronson)
on Wednesday, May 25th from 9:30am to 4:00pm. Please contact Heather Money
at 613 238-5014 <tel:613%20238-5014> x242 or
<mailto:womens.health at aco-cso.ca> womens.health at aco-cso.ca to register.
Lunch will be provided.
There is a limited amount of space reserved for service providers, so
register early!
Best Regards,
Heather Money
