[homeles_ot-l] Ottawa Response to Social Assistance Review Commission Options paper

Hi folks,
 
Attached is the draft response from the OPRN (Ottawa Poverty Reduction Network) to the Social Assistance Review (SAR) Commission's options paper "Approaches for Reform" which is at www.socialassistancereview.ca. We will be finalizing it at our meeting this afternoon and then feeding it in to the community-wide response being developed by the SAR Working Group later this week.
 
The SAR Working Group are the folks that put on the Community Consultation last July at St. Joe's Church with the Commissioners of the Review. It includes, among others, the OPRN, Ottawa's four legal clinics, the Alliance to End Homelessness and the city.
 
Today's OPRN meeting is open to anyone who wants to join us and will be at Overbrook Community Centre, 33 Quill Street, from 1:15 to 4:00 pm. If you would like to receive a copy of the final OPRN response or the Working Group submission, please let me know.
