Dear Ottawa Community Action members:

We have learned, in the last couple of days, that Michael Allen, CEO of
United Way/Centraide Ottawa, will be providing a verbal update to the
Community and Protective Services Committee of Ottawa City Council on
Thursday, March 22nd at 10:00 am.

The update is the first item on the Committee's agenda and so should
begin shortly after 10 am.

The Steering Committee of OCA has drafted up a brief deputation which
will be presented after the update. Our purpose is to ensure the
Committee members are aware that there are differing perspectives in the
broader community about the current direction of UW/CO and serious
concerns about the impact of this direction on community service
organizations, many of whom are service partners with the City itself,
and the populations who depend on them for support. We will invite
Councillors to visit our website and to attend the 2012 AGM.

If you are able to attend the Committee meeting between 10 am and 10:30,
please do so.
