Two Full-Time Maintenance Worker Positions

 

Gloucester Housing Corporation is a thriving non-profit community business
offering affordable and market rent housing with 288 units located in the
Gloucester area of Ottawa. The Maintenance Workers will be working in a
small team responsible for a variety of maintenance repairs across
Gloucester Housing communities, working closely with all the team to provide
an excellent service to tenants. Responsible for processing work orders,
unit turnovers and other maintenance, cleaning, and up-keep of the
communities.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

 

§  College Diploma with certification in building maintenance or other
relevant building trade.

§  Observance of Standard Health and Safety practices.

§  Flexibility when required, which could include working overtime to
provide an excellent service to Gloucester Housing tenants.

§  Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.

§  Use of a licensed vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s licence.

§  Flexibility when required, which could include working overtime as
required to provide an excellent service to Gloucester Housing tenants.

§  Commitment to working in a diverse workplace.

§  Fluency in English. Bilingualism is preferred. A third language is a
definite asset: for example Arabic, Somali.

Starting salary $31,000 gross per annum, plus a generous benefits package
upon successful completion of the probationary period. 37.5 hours per week.
Hours are principally 8-4pm, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends
on occasion to maintain excellent services to tenants. Participation in the
on-call schedule required, for which an extra payment is given.
