Hello everyone,

 

The Report Card on Ending Homelessness in Ottawa, Jan-Dec 2012 will be
released next Tuesday by Alliance to End Homelessness. You are most welcome
to join us at the Press Conference and pick up a hot-off-the-press copy.

 

April 16th at 10 am at 171 George St , the Salvation Army, Ottawa Booth
Centre.

 

Among the questions the Report Card addresses are:

§  What was the good news in 2012? What was the bad?

§  Which groups are using shelters more often? Which are staying for longer
periods of time? 

§  Which recent government actions are making it more difficult to reduce
homelessness in Ottawa? 

§  How are homeless families with children faring compared to last year?

§  What was the most disturbing trend by the end of 2012?

Alliance to End Homelessness to release 

2012 Report Card on Ending Homelessness on April 16

 

The Alliance to End Homeless Ottawa (ATEH) will release its annual Report
Card measuring community progress toward reaching targets to end
homelessness at a press conference on April 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the
Salvation Army Booth Centre. 

 

Speaking at the press conference will be Lynne Browne, ATEH Executive
Director; Tim Aubry, Professor and Director, Centre for Research on
Educational & Community Services, University of Ottawa; and ATEH Chair Dan
Sabourin. 

 

The Report Card on Ending Homelessness in Ottawa, Jan-Dec 2012 is produced
by the ATEH to evaluate the Ottawa community’s progress towards ending
homelessness in four areas: the number of people using emergency shelters;
the length of shelter stay; the creation of affordable housing; and the
affordability of housing.  ATEH’s recommendations flowing from the 2012 data
will be presented at the press conference.

organization with 43 member organizations which work together to generate

le Bulletin 2012 pour mettre un terme à l’itinérance, le 16 avril 

 

L’Alliance pour mettre un terme à l’itinérance à Ottawa (AMTI) dévoilera son
Bulletin annuel, qui mesure les progrès de la collectivité dans l’atteinte
des cibles permettant de mettre un terme à l’itinérance, lors d’une
conférence de presse, le 16 avril 2013, à 10 h, au Centre Booth de l’Armée
du Salut. 

 

Prendront la parole à la conférence de presse : Lynne Browne, directrice
générale de l’AMTI; Tim Aubry, professeur et directeur, Centre de recherche
sur les services éducatifs et communautaires, Université d’Ottawa; et le
président de l’AMTI, Dan Sabourin. 

 

Le Bulletin pour mettre un terme à l’itinérance à Ottawa, Jan.-Déc. 2012 est
produit par l’AMTI dans le but de mesurer les progrès réalisés par la
collectivité d’Ottawa pour mettre un terme à l’itinérance, en évaluant
quatre secteurs : le nombre de personnes ayant recours aux refuges; la durée
des séjours dans les refuges; la création de logements abordables; et
l’abordabilité du logement.  Les recommandations de l’AMTI découlant des
données 2012 seront présentées lors de la conférence de presse.
