Well-known author and educator Joseph Cornell will share many creative ideas
for making nature education fun, meaningful, and deeply inspiring. You'll
learn about Flow Learning, a highly effective technique for outdoor
learning. This model shows you how to awaken enthusiasm for learning and
sensitively guide others, step by step, to more profound and uplifting
experiences of nature.

Joseph Cornell is one of the most highly regarded nature educators in the
world today. He is the author of the highly acclaimed nature awareness book
Sharing Nature with Children, a popular resource used by environmental,
school, youth and religious organizations all over the globe. Sharing Nature
with Children has been translated into twenty foreign languages and has sold
over 450,000 copies. Joseph has written five other nature awareness books,
and introduced Flow Learning, a powerfully effective process for
experiencing nature deeply. In 1978, Joseph founded Sharing Nature
Foundation to spread his work throughout the world. He is the honorary
president of the Japan Nature Game Association, an organization of over
10,000 leaders who use and promote his nature education philosophy and
methods in Japan and Southeast Asia. He travels regularly to work with
groups in other countries.

SHARING NATURE PUBLIC TALK AND PANEL DISCUSSION

October 11

A free public lecture on Sharing Nature by Joseph Cornell followed by a
panel discussion with local nature educators will be held on Thursday,
October 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Potter Room of Dalhousie University's KC
Rowe Management Building (6100 University Avenue, Halifax, NS). This event
is sponsored in part by the Dalhousie School for Resource and Environmental
Studies.
