WORK

Work is blunt and mechanical, work is poetic and ethereal.
It churns and it sweats, it elevates and reflects. It has been here since
the first human action, and it will be here when it all ends. It enslaves
and it liberates…

Two new theatre pieces.

"the Push" The Greek myth of Sisyphus is the starting place. In the myth,
Sisyphus is punished for trying to attain the lot of a god – immortality.
The myth is interwoven with the story of Halifax artist Shirley Blue, our
contemporary protagonist’s crime and punishment. the Push has its roots
collective creation, mask, the physical theatre and an ensemble of five
talented young actors.

"Wood Moves" Four men and their work. Physical work. Dangerous work.
Repetitive work. In a carpentry shop they build what they’re told to, till
break time or 4 o’clock comes. Funny, frightening, raw, engaging, and
intensely physical.

Physical theatre, music, improvisation, myth and more.
Welcome to a night of new theatre.
