NOVA SCOTIA S. O. S. RALLIES FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

November 20, 2007 - Concerned citizens across Nova Scotia will be Speaking
Out in Solidarity (SOS) tomorrow morning in an appeal for better stewardship
of the environment in Nova Scotia.

On the eve of the next sitting of the provincial legislature, campaign
leaders Marilyn Stanton of Digby and Christiane Tanner of Cape Breton
indicate they want the provincial government to adopt the recommendations of
the Digby panel review, and get on with adopting a "green" agenda.

"Christiane and myself, two women from different areas of the province,
decided joined hands across the North Mountain to send a distress call to
our provincial leaders," declared Marilyn Stanton, "What has resulted is a
snowball of rallies across the province. Citizens want the government to act
on their promises and to be better stewards of the environment."

The Nova Scotia government adopted the Environmental Goals and Sustainable
Prosperity Act this earlier year, which makes several commitments, including
promises to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, integrate sustainable
principles into the economy, and to become a world leader in sustainability
by 2020.
