POSITION AVAILABLE: Project coordinator – Full-Time
The Petitcodiac Watershed Alliance (PWA) is presently receiving applications for the position of project coordinator. PWA is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to education and monitoring water quality in the Petitcodiac and Memramcook watersheds. The successful applicant will manage and coordinate all activities of the PWA.
Primary duties of the project coordinator include:
· scheduling, organizing and facilitating meetings and group activities;
· designing research projects focused on improving fish habitat and water quality in the Petitcodiac and Memramcook Watersheds
· pursuing funding support (writing proposals and soliciting funds from agencies);
· designing and implementing a public education program;
· issuing newsletters, news releases, reports;
· updating the PWA website;
· identifying and recruiting stakeholders and volunteers;
· providing technical support to other non-profit organizations.
Desirable Experience
· Project management
· Public speaking and presentation design
· Demonstrate writing skills for proposals, newsletters, press releases, etc.
· Strong organizational skills
· Teamwork
· Research design and field sampling skills
· Ability to handle basic statistics
· Good computer skills
The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communications skills in both official languages, be highly motivated and organized and must be willing to work under minimal supervision. Post secondary education in the environmental field is a pre-requisite.
The candidate must possess a valid NB driver’s license and own a vehicle. The candidate must also be flexible and willing to work nights and weekends.
Moncton will be the base of operation for this position. Salary will be based on experience.
