International Internship Opportunities



On behalf of our members and overseas partners, the Atlantic Council for
International Cooperation (ACIC) would like to fill the following Canadian
International Development Agency (CIDA) International Youth Internship
Program (IYIP) positions:



(1) Public Engagement Officer- Atlantic Council for International
Cooperation; Halifax, NS and Madre Tierra; Tegucigalpa, Honduras



(2) Forest Conservation Assistant - Ecology Action Centre; Halifax, NS and
Fundaçion Rainforest Rescue (FURARE); Nuevo Mundo, Ecuador



(3) Quality Control Support Specialist – Just Us! Development Education
Society; Grand Pré, NS and Jambi Kiwa; Riobamba, Ecuador



(4) Youth Engagement Intern - Institute of Island Studies UPEI;
Charlottetown, PEI and Castro, Chiloe, Chile



(5) Environmental Education and Alternative Technology Specialist- Earth
Action; Charlottetown, PEI and ACUA; Zaragoza, La Libertad, El Salvador



(6) Community Sustainability Officer - Nova Scotia Environmental Network;
Halifax NS, and Comite Hondureno de Accion por la Paz (COHAPAZ);
Tegucigalpa, Honduras



(7) Assistant Youth Organizer - CUSO; St.John`s, Newfoundland-Labrador; and
KALLPA; Iquitos, Peru



(8) Education Program Facilitator – Sierra Club Atlantic Chapter; Halifax,
NS and Mindo Cloudforest Foundation; Los Bancos-Milpe and Otavalo, Ecuador



Applicants must meet qualifications under the Government of Canada’s Youth
Employment Strategy (YES) (age 30 or under,  able to work in Canada,
currently under or unemployed, university or college graduate who has not
previously worked outside Canada in a paid, career-related position, and has
not participated in another Youth Employment Strategy internship)



Salary: Stipend of $225 per week



Other Benefits include travel to overseas posting; medical insurance and
visas; cultural awareness training; language training if necessary; job
search skills; and other potential training courses.



Duration: 9 months approx 4 months in Canada and 5 months overseas
