NATURAL BEEKEEPING: Organic Approaches to Modern Apiculture

Where:  Windhorse Farm, Saturday Sept. 6th & Sunday Sept. 7th 2008, 132
Sarty Road
New Germany, Nova Scotia B0R 1E0.  Use Exit 12 off Hwy 103. Ask for driving
directions when registering.

            Ross Conrad, author of Natural Beekeeping: Organic Approaches to
Modern Apiculture, is a dynamic and knowledgeable speaker with years of
public speaking experience.   Ross is able to tailor his presentations to
the level of the audience's knowledge base.   His organic beekeeping
sessions (for beginning, intermediate or advanced beekeepers) will help you
learn about the current state of the honeybee and the beekeeping industry
and alternatives to the failing status quo.  Safe, nontoxic and effective
methods for controlling hive pests and diseases such as mites and foulbrood
are covered.  Whether you are looking to use fewer chemicals and increase
your profit margin, or are committed to keeping bees organically, this
workshop is for you.

WORKSHOP INCLUDES:

 

* INSTRUCTION: 

Saturday Sept 6 (Beginners Session 8:30 - 10:30am)

Regular Sessions 1 - 5pm and 6 - 8pm

 Sunday Sept 7   Regular Sessions 9:30am - 12 noon and final Session 1-
2:30pm

 

* MEALS:  Saturday:  lunch (noon - 1pm) and supper (5-6pm)

     Sunday:     breakfast (8:30 - 9:30am), Lunch (12 - 1 pm)

    These are all simply prepared, local, organic and seasonal meals
