to social justice and social change. Rooted in communities across
Canada, we are leaders in public engagement and are recognized for
bringing regional knowledge and priorities to the national level.

The ICN is seeking a project coordinator for our Kaleidoscope Video
Challenge project which seeks to sensitize and engage young Canadians in
global development issues, and to support them in becoming responsible
and engaged global citizens.
Building on the popularity of video-sharing, the Kaleidoscope Video
Challenge invites youth participants to prepare and submit a 2-5 minute
“video clip” on what they believe is the most pressing global issue, and
what action(s) Canadians can take locally to address it.
Submissions will be judged regionally to determine one finalist from
each age category from each council. Nationally, a panel of prominent
Canadians will review finalists. Regional semi-finalists will be
showcased and the two national winners (one in each category) announced
at a gala event in Ottawa, May 2008.
The project is currently well underway, with the contest closing March
31. We are seeking a responsible, experienced bilingual person to take
on the tasks of coordinating the selection process, organizing regional
and national events, developing an educational package, evaluating the
project, and documenting best practices and lessons learned.
* Coordinating effective communication between provincial/regional
council project coordinators
* Liaising with media/communications consultants
* Implementing media/outreach strategy
* Organizing events – regional and national awards galas
* Engaging the selection panel
* Documenting best practices and lessons learned
