[Sust-mar] Upcoming funding deadline for PAINTS - bringing professional visual artists into NS schools

Upcoming Deadline Tuesday January 30th.

PAINTS is now accepting applications from schools for projects with PAINTS
artists taking place between March 1st and June 30th.

What is PAINTS? It's Professional Artists in the Schools. The program
provides support to schools for projects that bring professional visual and
craft artist in to work with students. The projects can range from 3 hours
to 24 hours per school per school year. It’s a cost sharing program; PAINTS
provides half of the artists wage and the school provides the other half.
PAINTS is all about connecting students with professional NS artists -
through discussions, presentations and hands on work in a wide range of
disciplines.

Applying is simple. First, head to our website, read over the form and
guidelines.  Next, find an artist in our directory. Call or email the artist
to work out a project, , and finally fill out the online form 

You may already have an idea for a project, or you might only know that you
want something for a particular grade level, or a subject area or you might
just know that you want your students to benefit from this program. 

 

You don’t have to have it all figured out. Check out the artist profiles on
our website and when something sparks, contact the artist and arrange to
meet by phone or in person, to talk about some possibilities.  

The next deadline is Tuesday January 30th.
