The Nature Trust of New Brunswick (NTNB) seeks a Program
Director to help the organization achieve its mission of
conserving and stewarding outstanding natural lands for the
benefit and well-being of New Brunswickers. The
province-wide land trust conserves riverine, coastal and
forest landscapes of exceptional natural beauty and habitat
diversity using a variety of instruments including land
donation, conservation easements, leases and purchase. The
Trust's nature preserve network, now roughly 5,000 acres in
28 properties, offers an abundance of outdoor recreational
activities as well as diverse natural, cultural and
archaeological resources.

In its 21 year history NTNB has experienced considerable
growth with expanded organizational capacity and increased
conservation results. The potential for further growth and
land conservation is high, given the relatively low
population and abundant undeveloped land base in the
Province. Our hiking trails and volunteer land steward
system connect people with the land. NTNB is known for its
inclusive approach to community involvement in conservation
with a strong volunteer presence in all aspects of its
programs.

The NTNB Board seeks a Program Director who is an
experienced and seasoned conservation professional (minimum
5 years experience) with passion and a background of
accomplishment in land conservation. The ideal candidate for
this position will have fundraising experience, management
and leadership skills, an interest in growing the
organization's impact province-wide, and an enthusiastic
passion for the region's natural resources.

The position requires skills in financial management and
knowledge of land conservation policies, tools and
negotiation methods. In addition, the candidate must have a
track record of creating positive relationships with board
and staff, and in nurturing long-term organizational
relationships with landowners, donors, local citizens, other
key constituencies and the greater land trust community.
Knowledge of development is a key component of the position
including experience in endowment planning and
implementation of capital campaign fund-raising. As a
spokesperson for the organization, the Program Director
should be comfortable with regular interaction with the
media, and oral and written French skills are desirable.
Frequent in-province and some out-of-province travel is
necessary.
