The Edible Show’s 1st Annual 
Call For Submissions.


EVERYONE FROM THE ARTS, 
CULINARY AND FOOD PRODUCTION 
COMMUNITIES WELCOME!!
The Edible Show is a two-week food themed Art exhibition
 supporting food accessibility and creativity in Atlantic Canada. 


FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION:
1. Presentation: auditory, olfactory, taste, tactile and visual aesthetics
2. Context: material(s), process, culture, politics, etc
3. Specialization: Making/growing, buying/selling, 
     preparation/presentation, consumption etc


SUBMISSIONS DUE DATE- JUNE 15/09

Applications must be in proper envelope and labelled to THE EDIBLE SHOW





Applications due by June 15th at 5:00 pm to the NSCADU port campus loggia drop off box located near the security desk.






Interested restaurants, culinary workers, farmers  etc interested
 in getting involved/collaberating with artists for the First Annual 
Edible Show are encouraged to contact the coordinaing committe.

Application guidelines



A detailed and concise written description of how you plan to prepare and serve your work and nature of work ie-time based, performative, intended facilities etc… to a maxiumum of 4 paragraphs.




Artist Statement and current CV




5 - 10 images of your work (slides or JPEGS on a CD; and /or VHS or DVDs)  including a printed image list, corresponding to submitted images with measurements, dimensions, duration and pertinent info. Indicate if these images represent what you plan to exhibit or are, instead, examples of your current production and indicative of the future direction of your work. Each slide must be labeled with your name and corresponding red dot on the lower left hand side of the slide frame. If submitting a CD, prepare images as JPEGs at 72 dpi and no larger than 4” x 6” and label it with a marker. Do not add labels to the CD.  You may include video on the CD but it must be in an .avi or .mov format. DVD's must be readable by all DVD players.




If you are preparing edible art please note general health and safety food precautions/considerations for pests, allergies and ingredients, expiration of food stuffs, shelf life and sanitation.
 ***An inspection by food/health safety official may be neccessary***




Sale of work in the gallery is prohibited 




Kitchen facilities on site to be determined by proposals accepted for the Edible Show
