Adaptations and Actions - Tools for Rural Communities Facing Climate Change
Mount Allison University, Sackville NB
February 27 - March 1

All are welcome to attend this conference, designed for rural and community leaders (municipalities, local service districts, NGO's, etc), planners and decision-makers. This is an opportunity to learn about green and sustainable planning, to network, and to develop collaborative approaches in the face of climate change.

Resource people from: Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Efficiency New Brunswick, Mount Allison University faculty, Tantramar Planning Commission, etc.

Workshops on: land use planning, green plans, energy efficiency, sources of funding, etc.

Overall, it is hoped that people and municipalities will be enabled to meet the challenges of planning for climate change together, as we will inevitably have to!

Note that this event is generously being sponsored by the federal government, through Canadian Rural Partnerships; by the NB provincial government, through the Environmental Trust Fund; by Mount Allison University; by the Tantramar Planning Commission; as well as by six municipalities - all of whom took part in making sure that this conference will meet our needs. Special thanks to the staff of EOS Eco-Energy Inc. and Cape Jourimain Nature Centre for coordination.
