Apologies. The time is 7 pm, not 6:30 pm.

This is a fabulous and important film.
Go see it if you missed it at the Atlantic Film Festival (Sept 2008).

THE STRANGEST DREAM

The story of Joseph Rotblat, nuclear pioneer and dedicated peace activist,is
intertwined with that of Nova Scotia's influential Thinkers' Lodge in Eric
Bednarksi's feature documentary NFB debut. The Cold War is vividly recalled
in
rare archival footage and contemporary interviews with the likes of General
Roméo Dallaire and Sergei Khrushchev; the roll call at the annual Pugwash
Conference on Science and World Affairs has included such important
personages
as founder/financier Cyrus Eaton and philosopher Bertrand Russell. With a
narrative sweep that begins in the years just before World War II and ends
with
Rotblat's passing just a few years ago, The Strangest Dream takes its
audience
on a journey through the intricate practicalities of pacifism in the midst
of
humanity's most violent century.
