Position: Executive Director

Organization: NL Environment Network (NLEN) http://www.nlen.ca

Location: St. John's, Newfoundland



The NLEN Executive Director will be responsible for: 

* Communications (issuing media releases for NLEN 

activities and events; meeting with various levels of 

government; putting media in touch with members); 

* Administrative (organize annual membership drive; fulfill 

quarterly report requirements to the Canadian Environment 

Network; organize bi-monthly meetings of the NLEN Board; 

responsible for all financial bookkeeping; apply for funding 

opportunities; supervise other employees & volunteers); 

* Events (facilitate gatherings for capacity building of 

members; organize AGM & attend national meeting; 

organize public events). 



The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the following 

requirements and qualifications: Post-secondary education; 

excellent written and verbal communication skills; 

excellent organizational and time management skills; 

experience writing funding proposals; experience 

(volunteer or paid) working with grassroots community 

groups; commitment to, and knowledge of, environmental 

issues and concerns; proven ability to organize & facilitate 

group and/or public events; web-design skills would be 

a strong asset. 



The NLEN Executive Director is a part-time, permanent 

position paid for 20 hours a week (with potential for more 

hrs depending on project funding) at a rate of $15/hr, with 

3 weeks of paid leave per year as well as all stat holidays. 

The office is based in St. John's.

26th; some flexibility with this timing)
