Position: Executive Director / Riverkeeper

Organization: Sentinelles Petitcodiac Riverkeeper http://www.petitcodiac.org

Location: Moncton, New Brunswick



Sentinelles Petitcodiac Riverkeeper is an independent,

community-based, non-profit organization located in Moncton,

New Brunswick and dedicated to protecting and restoring the

ecosystems of the Petitcodiac, Memramcook, and Shepody

Rivers and to supporting the resolution of related

environmental problems.



Sentinelles Petitcodiac Riverkeeper is seeking a suitable

candidate for the position of Executive Director /

Riverkeeper. Guided by the Board of Directors, s/he will

manage and oversee the day-to-day affairs of the

organization, administer budgets, manage media relations,

direct fundraising and special events, build partnerships

with community groups, governments and environmental

foundations, coordinate volunteer committees and member

relations, and supervise staff. S/he will also patrol area

waterways, monitor the watershed for violations of laws

aimed at protecting aquatic ecosystems, investigate public

complaints of watershed pollution, conduct research, and

undertake public education activities.



The successful candidate will combine the following

qualifications and attributes:

* An undergraduate degree in environmental studies, law,

public and/or business administration, or a related field;

* Demonstrated experience in managing non-profit

organizations;

* Familiarity with water quality issues affecting the

Petitcodiac and Shepody ecosystems;

* Ability to fundraise and to work constructively with

members, concerned citizens, local institutions, businesses

and elected officials;

* Familiarity with environmental laws and watershed

rehabilitation technologies;

* Proven experience in program development and grant

writing;

* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

and French;

* Entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to work

independently;

* Ability to multi-task, supervise and delegate.
