*Volunteer Description*:

Clean Nova Scotia is looking for volunteers to assist with our stream
restoration work in Ellenvale Run, a stream in urban Dartmouth. The stream
runs from Lake Lemont and Topsail Lake, through the communities of Commodore
Park, Woodlawn Heights, Ellenvale and Portland Estates before emptying into
Morris Lake. The section of the stream on which we will focus is behind the
Atlantic Superstore on Portland Street. In this area, the stream is choked
off by massive piles of garbage and organic debris. These blockages need to
be removed to restore flow through this section and to improve fish habitat
and passage. Access to the site is poor, the terrain is uneven, and there
are many overhanging branches that workers will have to climb over and
under.
