EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Position: Newfoundland Paint Recycling Program -- Program Coordinator Position
Organization: Product Care Association http://www.productcare.org
Location: anywehr in Newfoundland or Labrador
Product Care Association (PCA) is a non-profit, industry association that operates and manages a number of "product stewardship" programs across North America, including the Newfoundland and Labrador Paint Program launching soon.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Paint Program will collect leftover household paint from consumers using a depot system, and then the paint will be processed for recycling and disposal.
PCA seeks a part time program coordinator in Newfoundland or Labrador to assist in the management and operation of the program. The program coordinator would assist Product Care management in delivering the program, including but not limited to:
Interacting with municipal and provincial representatives and regulators
Program communication and promotion initiatives
Interacting with contractors who provide the collection and processing functions
Stakeholder relations (retailers, consumers, and others)
Attend various meetings and conferences
Attend and staff trade shows
Act as the initial contact person in NFLD for the program
The time commitment will vary from month to month. Initially it is anticipated that the position will be 1/3 to 1/2 of full time, and after the program has settled in, the requirement will average a couple of days per month.
This position requires some travel within Newfoundland & Labrador and as such, the successful candidate must have their own transportation. Compensation will be on an hourly basis, dependent on experience. Ability to work from an existing home office would be an asset.
