Position: ACORN Event Coordinator
Type: 10-week summer job / contract (see below)

Job Description

The ACORN Event Coordinator will provide support to ACORN staff in organizing and executing a variety of organic food and farming-related events in Atlantic Canada.

Specific tasks will include:
• Event coordination - support with planning and promotions for ACORN's annual conference and Beginner Farmer Symposium
• Partnership development - outreach to retailers, restaurants and producers to coordinate Organic Week activities across the Maritimes
• Communications - web and social media updating, blogging

Qualifications
• Strong interest in organic food and agriculture
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with Macs would be considered an asset
• Must be a full-time student in the current academic year entering or resuming post-secondary studies in September

Job details

35 hours/week at $11.00/hour for a 10-week contract. Start date negotiable. The successful candidate will work out of ACORN's office in Sackville, NB.
