Join us for Green Drinks!

Interested in meeting a group of friendly people having lively conversations about all things green? Then join us for drinks! Drop in and you'll be made welcome. It's an informal, relaxed group and a great way of catching up with people you know and for making new friends and contacts.

Green Drinkers are from all ages, backgrounds, cultures, political persuasions, and groups - non-profit organizations, academia, government, small business, big business, self-employed, volunteers, students, concerned citizens...and everything in between.

There's no agenda or other formality - it's just a chance to meet regularly to chat, debate, socialize and connect with others in Halifax who are passionate about environmental and sustainability issues. Whether you're keen on green building & design, sustainable energy, organic gardening, climate change, local food security, or something else entirely, you'll find like-minded people.

When & where

Green Drinks Halifax meets at 7pm on the last Wednesday of every month at historic Henry House Pub, near the corner of South and Barrington Streets (Google map) unless otherwise indicated. We don't meet in December.

Metered parking is available on the surrounding streets, as well as bike stands. Metro Transit busses 7, 9, 35, 41 & 90 get you there (use the trip planner) if you get off at Barrington & South Streets.

RSVPs

RSVPs aren't necessary. Feel free to drop in and bring friends or colleagues!

How it all started

Green Drinks began with a few noble souls in the UK in 1989 and over the years has spread far beyond the smoky pubs of London. The first Canadian Green Drinks started up in Vancouver in February 2005 and spread quickly, with Green Drinks Halifax starting up in June of the same year.

Note that organizers for Green Drinks Halifax have come and gone over the years, generating things such as mailing lists, a Facebook group, a Twitter account, and more. The current organizers don't have access to these and they are defunct (do you have access to these accounts? Let us know!).
