Exploring the Current Legal and Charitable Landscape of Non-Profits
February 25-26, Tue 1 pm to Wed 4 pm
The legal and charitable landscape for non-profit organizations is
transforming. Recent changes by the federal government governing financial
accountability and auditing requirements, revoking of charitable status of
select environmental groups, as well as the incorporation of social
enterprise activity into funding portfolios all have legal and charitable
implications for non-profit organizations. Join charity and non-profit
lawyer, Richard Bridge in this workshop to discover and explore the legal
requirements that face your organization. This workshop is directed towards
Directors, senior management and board members.
Topics that will be explored in this workshop include:
An overview of non-profit and charity law
Incorporation and maintenance of a non-profit organization
Registering as charity
Maintaining charitable status
Risk Management
Enterprise and business Activities by non-profit organizations and charities
Advocacy by charities
