The world's oceans, as well as the people who depend on them, are under more
stress than ever before. Climate change, sea level rise, acidification,
coastal development and pollution are just a few of the myriad issues
affecting the world's marine environments.
 <http://www.marineaffairsprogram.dal.ca> Dalhousie's Marine Affairs Program
provides an enquiring, stimulating and interdisciplinary learning
environment. It is our goal to better understand the sustainable use and
conservation of the world's coastal and ocean environments. Students
participating in the 16 month
<http://www.dal.ca/academics/programs/graduate/mmm.html> Master of Marine
Management (MMM) degree are drawn from diverse academic backgrounds that
include natural sciences, social sciences, engineering or the humanities. As
they proceed with their program they gradually develop an interdisciplinary
perspective on some of the most important issues that currently face the
global marine community.
Dalhousie's Marine Affairs Program is
unique, providing students with technical capacity and professional
development activities that lead to MMM graduates with leadership skills
that include communication, collaboration and critical thinking.
