Document, organize, and analyze qualitative data produced by project working groups including but not limited to: vulnerable infrastructure, socioeconomic vulnerabilities, current impacts, future impacts, and potential adaptive actions
Work with knowledge holders to identify drivers and constraints to climate change adaptation and mitigation action
Coordinate and execute a public engagement strategy in partnership with contracted marketing agency, including social media content, website content, and public events (farmers markets, industry events, etc.)
Draft adaptation and mitigation planning documents in consultation with the elected officials and hired staff of participating governments
Identify and pursue clients for the organizations GHG quantification service
Satisfy reporting requirements for project funders
Required Qualifications:
Experience conducting both climate change adaptation planning and greenhouse gas reduction planning according to commonly used five-step frameworks
Prior experience in stakeholder engagement including all levels of Canadian and First Nations governments, industry, academia, and residents
Knowledge of the causes and effects of climate change including:
a strong understanding of greenhouse gases, types of usage data, emissions factors, and global warming potential
experience identifying and evaluating climate impacts and appropriate adaptive actions, preferably in a coastal, temperate region with an economic dependence on marine fisheries
Experience organizing and executing meetings, public events, and outreach strategies
Experience analyzing climate change policy and regulations
Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to present technical concepts to large and small groups; and to document, organize, and analyze qualitative feedback.
Experience applying for and managing environmental funding from Environment & Climate Change Canada, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, and other funders
Graduate degree in a relevant topic, or Bachelors degree with exceptional practical experience
Valid drivers license
Willing and able to work in southwestern New Brunswick
GIS, graphic design, photography, or social media skills will each be considered beneficial
