Position: Energy Projects Coordinator
Organization: EOS Eco-Energy
Location: Sackville, New Brunswick
Eligibility: age 30 & under (see below)

EOS Eco-Energy is an award-winning not-for-profit organization focused on helping local communities reduce and adapt to climate change. Our team works on sustainable energy, water and adaptation projects in the Memramcook- Tantramar region of southeast New Brunswick. We are looking for a dynamic individual who will coordinate a number of exciting projects related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, emissions reduction and climate change. The energy projects coordinator will work out of our Sackville, NB office, which overlooks the beautiful Sackville Waterfowl Park.

Duties:
• Supervised by the executive director, you will be responsible for coordinating our residential draft-proofing work party program, working with local municipalities to calculate emission reductions as part of the Partners for Climate Protection program, organizing a solar home tour, helping to coordinate and organize events and school visits for our annual Tantramar Climate Change Week, and more.
• Communicate with the public about energy and climate change issues at community events, as well as with the media, via social media posts, etc.
• Raise public awareness about sustainable energy and climate change in creative and engaging ways.
• Apply for funding to further build our energy programs.
• Prepare regular reports of project activities and final reports, update databases and website, contribute to EOS newsletter, and other shared office tasks, etc.

Experience requested:
• Community-based environmental issues and/or sustainable community development projects.
• Home energy efficiency, renewable energy (solar energy), and/or emissions calculations.
• Event coordination, project management, budgeting, grant writing.
• Community outreach, public education, ads/posters, social marketing, and social media campaigns.
• Working independently as well as part of a team, and with youth.

Qualifications:
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in energy systems technology, renewable/clean energy, energy efficiency, environmental science or studies, sustainable development/community planning, geography, and/or related field.
• Must be currently underemployed, have not previously participated in a federal youth employment program. Must be 30 years old or younger. Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or have refugee status.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English. Skills in French are a very desirable asset.
• Work in energy efficiency or renewable energy fields is an asset.
• Valid driver’s licence and vehicle required.
• Dynamic, highly creative, organized, diligent, attention to detail, responsible, energetic, excellent time management skills, strong leadership and interpersonal skills, team player.

Contract details: 12-month full-time contract from August 2019 to August 2020. 40 hours a week. Possibility of extension, depending on funding.
