Dear Mayor and Members of Council,

I am pleased to inform you that the City of Ottawa has been allocated an additional $35,416,400 as part of the new federal Social Infrastructure Fund (SIF) Agreement with the Province, as outlined in the table below.

In April 2015, Council approved the initial Investment in Affordable Housing (IAH) spending plan for the $48,298,000 received by the City for 2014-2020. A portion of the new SIF ($19,174,200) will be delivered under the current (IAH) Program for a total allocation of $67,472,200.

In addition, $16,242,200 will be provided to the City for renovations and retrofits under the new Social Housing Improvement Program (SHIP). This new funding allocation is designed to address specific needs across our housing system such as new affordable housing options for vulnerable residents, including seniors and renovations and retrofits to social housing.

Je suis heureux de vous informer que la Ville d’Ottawa a été alloué un montant supplémentaire de 35 416 400 $ dans le cadre de l’accord du nouveau Fonds pour l’infrastructure sociale (FIS) fédérale avec la province comme indiquée dans le tableau ci-dessous. Une partie du FIS (19 174 200 $) sera livré dans le cadre du programme actuel (PILAO) pour un montant total de 67 472 200 $.

En avril 2015, le Conseil a approuvé l’investissement initial du Programme d’investissement dans le logement abordable de l’Ontario (PILAO) totalisant 48 298 000 $ qui a été reçu par la Ville pour la période de 2014-2020.

En outre (16 242 200 $) seront fournis à la Ville pour des travaux de rénovation et de modernisation dans le cadre du nouveau Programme d’amélioration des logements sociaux (PALS). Cette nouvelle allocation de financement, tel que décrit ci-dessous est conçu pour répondre aux besoins spécifiques à travers notre système de logement tel que les nouvelles options de logements abordables pour les personnes vulnérables, y compris les personnes âgées ainsi que pour des rénovations et la modernisation des logements sociaux.
