FOREST BATHING BACKGROUND
Created in Japan in the 1980’s and called Shinrin-yoku (translated as
showering or bathing the senses in the forest environment), forest bathing
is intentional time in nature that can offer benefits to human health. From
healing chemicals released from coniferous trees, to the sensory
experiences of being immersed in nature’s sights, sounds, smells and
textures, forest bathing can reduce stress and support improved overall
wellbeing.
