Dear Municipal arborist/forester:

FYI, I am on the organizing committee for the Ont. Prof. Foresters Assn meeting this May in Guelph.

In this role, I managed to get two foresters from Ohio who developed the Urban Site Index program to deliver a workshop on the program at the end of the OPFA meeting.  The USI is a very functional and teachable method to plan tree planting/restoration in urban contexts (mostly street Trees and the like).  I’ve attached some background information on the program.

If your municipality is interested in having someone attend the workshop on the afternoon of Thursday May 18, let me know.  Registration for the conference is open  and non-OPFA members can register for just the workshop.  If you want to send someone, I am sure I can make that happen; although I’m not sure of the details right this minute.  It will be a good training opportunity.
